Overview | Chloroether resin (fully called vinyl chloride-vinyl isobutyl ether copolymer resin, English abbreviation is VC-IBVE) is a kind of coating industry and The PVC copolymer widely used in the ink industry basically overcomes the shortcomings of other chlorine-containing polymer resins and has chemical corrosion resistance, water resistance, weather resistance and other properties, it has good adhesion with metal and other substrates and is one of the important matrix materials for marine paint, heavy-duty anti-corrosion paint and advanced ink binder. |
properties | due to its unique molecular structure, chloroether resin has both the characteristics of chlorine-containing polymers and the unique flexibility and polarity of ether compounds, making it have the following unique properties. (1) Good internal plasticity. Chloroether resin can be regarded as a product where some chlorine atoms in polyvinyl chloride macromolecules are replaced by isobutyl ether groups. Compared with polyvinyl chloride resin, its molecular structure introduces some larger groups. The increase of steric hindrance affects the accumulation and arrangement of its macromolecular chains, making it tend to be loose, and the flexibility of the molecular chains is enhanced, that is, the vinyl isobutyl ether component has an internal plasticization effect, the coating film formed by the polymer has sufficient flexibility without adding plasticizer, thus avoiding the brittle coating film due to the migration loss of adding external plasticizer. (2) Good adhesion. The ether bond of chloroether resin ensures that the coating has good adhesion on various substrates. Therefore, the coating with chloroether resin as the matrix has excellent adhesion with a variety of metal substrates (such as aluminum and zinc) and polymer substrates (such as polypropylene film and polyethylene). (3) Excellent molecular structure stability. Chloroether resin does not contain reactive double bonds, so it is not easy to degrade for atmospheric oxidation. The molecule does not contain saponifiable ester bonds, and the chlorine atoms in the combination are very stable. Therefore, the coating made of chloroether resin has good hydrolysis resistance, light resistance, weather resistance and chemical resistance. (4) Good compatibility. Chloroether resin series products can be mixed with vinyl chloride copolymer, polyacrylate, unsaturated polyester resin, maleic acid alcohol resin, cyclohexanone resin, aldehyde resin, Gumarone resin, petroleum resin, amino resin, modified alkyd resin, Natural resin, dry oil, plasticizer, tar and asphalt are miscible. (5) Good solubility. Chloroether resins are dissolved in aromatic hydrocarbons and halogenated hydrocarbons, esters, ketones, ethylene glycol, acetate esters and certain ethers. Aliphatic hydrocarbons and alcohol solvents can be used as diluents. (6) excellent wettability. Chloroether resin has excellent wettability to pigments and can basically be mixed with various fillers. (7) Certain flame retardancy. The resin contains chlorine to make it have a certain degree of flame retardancy. Adding other flame-retardant pigments and fillers and fire-retardant agents can be made into fire-retardant coatings for building fire prevention. (8) Environmental friendliness. Chloroether resin meets the "Sanitary Requirements for Soaking Water of Drinking Water Delivery and Distribution Equipment" in GB/T17219 "Safety Evaluation Standard for Drinking Water Delivery and Distribution Equipment". The coating formulated with it can be used in food hygiene occasions. |
